  School Introduction

      The School of Food Science and Technology was founded in 1985. It offers 6 majors, namely Food Nutrition and Detection, Food Processing Technology, Food and Drug Administration, Quality Test of Agricultural Products and so on. The major of “Food Nutrition and Detection” is entitled “the key construction specialty” of the national demonstrational college. The number of students is about 1300. 
      There are 33 full-time members including 4 professors and 13 associate professors, 90% of whom are double-professionally-titled teachers. 11 teachers have doctoral degrees and 17 teachers have master’s degrees. More than 20 teachers have been to the United States, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands for further education or academic visits. Each year we invited experts from other countries including Germany, France and the Netherlands, to carry out academic exchanges. 
      We pay significant attention to students’ practical skills during the teaching process. The school is well-equipped with various contemporary instruments and laboratories to support the teachers’ research and the students’ placement in food analysis, food biotechnology and food processing, such as Jiangsu Agricultural Products Processing and Detection Base for Higher Vocational Education, and Jiangsu Research and Development Center for Animal Products Processing.

      Food Nutrition and Detection is the key construction major of the national demonstrational college. It is designed to impart basic knowledge and professional skills on food analysis, food safety management and food processing technology etc. The job market is wide open for trained students in this area, with of food processing enterprises, food additives enterprises, food quality monitoring units and relevant government agencies, for quality control, safety assurance and food processing technology. Our students enjoy excellent job placement and are qualified for all the careers listed above. The graduate employment rate is 98%. 
      2. The Food Processing Technology

      Food Processing Technology is to impart important basic concepts and a range of processing techniques that are used in food manufacturing. The job market is wide open for trained students in the areas of food processing enterprises, food quality monitoring units and relevant government agencies for quality control, safety assurance and food processing technology. Our students enjoy excellent job placement and are qualified for all the careers listed above. The graduate employment rate is 100%. 
      3. The Quality Test of Agricultural Products
      Quality Test of Agricultural Products is to impart basic knowledge and professional skills concerning agricultural products processing, detection, quality control etc. The job market is wide open for trained students in the areas of agricultural products testing, with manufacturers and government agencies, for quality control, safety assurance and food processing technology. Our students enjoy excellent job placement and are qualified for all the careers listed above. Students professional prospects are favorable and their employment rate is 100%. 
      4. The Food and Drug Administration

      Food and Drug Administration is to impart basic knowledge and professional skills concerning the supervision and administration of food and drug quality, production processes, agricultural products processing, relevant policies and regulations etc. The job market is wide open for trained students in this area, with of food enterprises, pharmaceutical companies and government agencies for quality control and supervision. Our students enjoy excellent job placement, and are qualified for all the careers listed above. Students professional prospects are favorable and their employment rate is 98%.
